'Capitalism': Michael Moore takes on the tough questions

All right, Moore. You got all my softball questions in Part 1 of your OscarWatch interview. Now I’m going to get all Mike Wallace on your behind and confront you on a number of controversial topics regarding your new documentary, Capitalism: A Love Story (in selected theaters today). Why, for example, didn’t you include a response from WalMart in the section of the film chastising the mega-corporation for taking out insurance policies against some of their employees? Isn’t it manipulative to have a scene showing the widower of a dead WalMart worker reading a letter to his deceased wife? And isn’t your film, which lauds ordinary citizens for standing up to authorities trying to evict delinquent homeowners, basically inciting widespread violence in this country? So, can you handle it?

Why does Michael Moore live in the USA ?

    • bors

because he’s living his life .

      what about YOU !

  • tamburlaine

Gwad, what pooh-says you are. Moore is a capitalist entrepeneur about to fleece a few million sheep of their money.

  • Michael

His last name says it all. Michael IS a capitalist who just wants MOORE money. What a hypocrite! Don’t go see any MOORE of his films.

    Great job Dave, as always,

Impressive you asked about stacking the deck

  • DavidJ

Lol, did you guys even LISTEN to the interview? Whether you agree with his politics or not, he gave extremely thoughtful and well-reasoned answers to all the questions that were asked of him.
I certainly don’t agree with everything he says or does either, but it’s obvious he DOES care about this stuff and isn’t just out to make a buck.

Michael Moore is not a journalist. He’s an activist. He has never claimed to provide an unbiased documentary experience–Dave, I’m very surprised that you seem to be treating him as such given that none of his films have presented his point in the way you’re asking him to now. I wonder when “unbiased” became the standard for good film-making. He articulates his well-researched point very clearly and well. I’m a moderate Republican and I have respect for his films although I don’t agree. As to those who ask him to leave America, I find that narrow-minded. He sees a way to improve his country and articulates it. Let him do so. In this country, we have free speech, and to just leave when you don’t like something would be cowardly and pathetic. That said, his films exhaust me, but they certainly serve their purpose.

We’ve found another movie that takes religion seriously!

So when someone has an opinion or presents facts you don’t like you think they should leave the country hmmmmm what kind of system does that sound like?? And the folks who don’t like any bias I wonder what news station they watch…could it be FOX? If you don’t think socialism doesn’t exist for the rich on wallstreet and that the cards are not stacked in their favor for them to make money off of you and we are now paying for the absence of regulations to keep them honest in our capitalist system you are nuts…
