All these women deserved the nomination. I was able to predict all 5, not because I'm so clever, but I had the hunch that Winslet would be placed in the lead category (I've heard great reasons for both placements. Winslet is the the woman most featured but the story is not hers.) Amy Adams was the obvious choice. Tomei is wonderful-as always, and I don't think her or the excellent Henson is a longshot. How many great performances does Tomei need to get her propers? A lot of this character was to the credit of Tomei's charm and ability to fill in the blanks. They all deserve their recognition. I, however, have to say, predicting Cruz is not going out on a limb, she's the favorite. Then again, playing the Woody Allen muse in the a retelling of his same story could work against her. This is a great category because anyone can win and would deserve it.

Amy Adams is a great actress. But I think her votes will be split with those for Viola Davis, giving way for Penelope Cruz to take home the Oscar. Honestly, I love every woman in this category. Adams, Davis, and Cruz along with Taraji Henson and Marisa Tomei are all fantastic. This is probably the only category at this year's Oscars where I won't mind who wins. I will be happy with any one of these 5 lovely ladies taking the award.

I love Amy Adams to death and I agree that she was superb in Miss Pettigrew which should gotten her awards attention as well this year. She should have gotten nominated for Enchanted. But the supporting actress performance of the year is Viola Davis -- hands down -- no match for Penelope cruz ( who should have won for volver). It just didn't feel like a full performance to me and if she does win, I think it's all Harvey's doing. I think everyone who has seen the five nominees can agree that Adams and Davis are the best and Davis should win.

I don't care if she's going to get the prize or not. She was the best supporting actress in 2008, with Oscar or without Oscar. For me, Doubt is the best drama in 2008 although not recognized.

Sadly, Cruz will win, due to the fact the name "Woody Allen" is involved, despite the fact he hasn't made a decent movie for decades.
