Kate Winslet: I think its about time. She’s a wonderful actress. And it was great to see how completely overwhelmed and utterly HAPPY she was about her wins. I’m actually quite surprised that people found her overthetop and fake. If I’d been acting for over 13 years, nominated for 5 GGs (amongst others) and hadn’t won a single time, I’d be as emotional. Maybe even worse. In an any case, I enjoyed her winning more than people who choose to remain calm and composed, and almost BORED at their wins.

I was surprised that Kate Winslet won both Lead and Supporting. I was thinking either Streep or Hathaway would take it. However this definintly pushes Kate’s chances for an Oscar win, but I think that will come in the Supporting Actress catagory, mainly because at this point there is absolutly no competition in that catagory. I was shocked that Slumdog won all its awards. I just recently saw the film and I thought it was okay, very overrated in my opinion.

It seems most people here are annoyed that yet again a small-budget non-American film and non-american actors are “stealing” the limelight during the awards season. Having watched almost all of the nominated films I will say BB is much overrated. I doubt Slumdog will win the best picture oscar (although Crash surprised us a couple of years back) but I hope Milk, and Grand Torino are given more recognition

Hello? Someone said there were mixed reviews for Slumdog? It’s been 4.5 to 5/5 across the board! It’s Benjy Button that’s had the mixed reviews, ranging fom 2 to 4/5. Thrilled for Danny & Co. & over the moon about Mickey! Best speech, too.

Those that disagree with kate winslet winning are angies’s fans because kate forgot her name and her movie was up against angie’s movie, they didn’t like anne hathaway either when she won the people’s choice award her movie was up against angie’s movie and also she as well forgot to mention angie’s name, they’re saying the same thing for colin farrel cause they compare him with brad so i guess it’s normal for them to bash other competitors, i really hope colin farrell and kate winslet and the movie slum dog, get nominated and win oscars.

I was so glad to see colin farrell won the award for his brilliant and superb acting for *in bruges* a must see movie and kate winslet and slumdog really deserved to win the wards for their movies and anyone who disagree either they haven’t see those movies yet or they prefered their idols would have won the award instead, in all and all i’m so satisfied by the result at the golden glob, well deserved.

Remember when Clooney won the GG for O Brother? Remember who he beat? Big Shots, but I think his performance is the most remembered today (well…maybe Cusack’s in High Fidelity as well..)
