I saw Revolutionary Road and thought that it was absolutely awful...I can't believe the hype it has had at all...shockingly bad.

I loved Revolutionary Road. Great great script. We need movies like this about being human. You know - just a ordinary human.
loved it.

To answer Kate's question, Titanic was the last huge blockbuster success movie that also won the most Oscar nominations and the most wins.

It's too bad that the viewers opinion has so little to do with the Politics that elect an oscar, traditionally speaking. WALL-E while an amazing movie bored me so badly it took 3 viewings to get through it. DARK KNIGHT was an amazing performance and an High Power pace but lulled badly in spots. Of course what do I know, my favorite movie of the year was Body of Lies which had great performances, nice pace, great story, and nobody cares. But honestly WALL-E while one of the highest rated Tomatoe movies was boring as hell for anyone over the age of 15 that isn't a tech geek, and it will probably win Best Picture.

Well Beauty and the Beast was nominated for Best Picture (totally worthy to be) so Wall-E could.
Ill say:
For Sure
Milk, Slumdog Millionaire, Benjamin Button,
2 of the 3:
Wall-E, Dark Knight, Frost-Nixon
And I wish Changeling would be more recognized :)

Best Picture Noms for Oscar:
The Dark Knight
The Curious Case of Benjamin Button
Slumdog Millionaire
Frost/Nixon
Revolutionary Road
*Dark Knight will probably be nominated in 11-13 different categories but won't win most of them.
Supporting Actor Award is in the bag.

Correcting Ms Schwarz: In the past 50 years [1958-2007], *74* films have received at least 3 acting nominations.
Of these, 63 of them were nominated for Best Picture.
Of the 11 that were not, only 5 also had a screenplay nomination.
Anyway, so what I deduce she is saying is that "Doubt" is highly likely to receive both a screenplay nom (not a sure thing, certainly, but strong possibility) and at least 3 acting noms (I'm assuming she believes Streep, Hoffman and Davis to be locks). And she thinks it highly unlikely that Shanley's film will join "Adaptation," "Bullets Over Broadway," "Victor/Victoria," "They Shoot Horses Don't They?" and "Hud" in that rare category of films that achieve those noms but fail to score a best-pic nom. I disagree - I certainly am able to see this being a distinct possibility.

Button, Dark Knight, Slumdog, Wall-E, and Milk are my best pic noms. I have friends in the industry so I managed to get into early screenings of Button, etc.
Anyway, It's a given that Wall-E will walk away with at least the Oscar for Animated picture (If there's justice, it should also take home a couple of tech awards, particularly those in sound, score, sound editing, etc..). Wall-E went way beyond the usual American Animated Films we are accustomed to every year, in terms of depth, message, and audacity. It was everything, sad, funny, heartwarming, poignant, thought provoking, and hopeful. To simply put it in the animated category would be a grave injustice in my book. TDK, Slumdog, and Button were all great films, but only one film did I leave the theater with the widest smile and the warmest feeling this year, something I've never felt in a long long time...Wall-E.

The nominees should be Wall-E, In Bruges, Dark Knight, Frost/Nixon and Benjamin Button. Slumdog is the most overrated movie ever; I'm so sick of hearing about it. And for those of you who think that Wall-E doesn't deserve Best Picture nomination: Go F--- yourselves!
